August is the eldest of seven brothers. Their resilience was proven when the family had to move to Fragateira, a coastal village with little more than three hundred people. He was the first of the seven brothers to make some friends and was the example of how one should adapt to the new circumstances of life. Change is a new beginning and knowing how to be happy from it is a necessary formula. August was ahead of his time and started fishing as soon as he arrived in Fragateira.

The dark of night does not intimidate him because he knows that the moon looks at him even when it’s hidden. When the fish does not reach the net he knows that, like men, fish have a will of their own. Behind his chubby, gray eyebrows a timid and gentle heart hides inside. He is an exceptional listener. He believes that those who tell him stories give a little bit of themselves. And sharing is one of the most beautiful things in life.
